Computational physics is one of most exciting and fast developing areas of modern physics, where theoretical physics meets powerful multiprocessor supercomputers.  Computational physics research at UCLan is focused on  nano-structured soft materials and biologically inspired materials. Our special interest is in understanding the fundamental physics of self-assembly of such materials, which will lead to the design of materials of the future.
